MS3D Animation

After discovering that AssImp doesn't support MS3D files (at least in the build that I was working with) I decided to write my own loader for MS3D and wait for AssImp integration. However, since then I have been cursing Milkshape3D, since I have spent countless hours debugging problems that stemmed from my own inability to use the animation features of the tool... So perhaps I shouldn't be cursing Milkshape, but still.

I still have another bug to work out, but my homemade models are really putting a hurt on my limited debugging time (as it turns out, moving to another continent doesn't improve your free time!). If anyone knows of a decent file with some animations in it already I would be very appreciative of a link or reference - I need something to test on and I'm getting desperate...

In other news, I've decided to start promoting Hieroglyph a bit more in the coming weeks. This includes building up the documentation in a book format, generating an icon, and perhaps finding some standard geometry to bundle in with the library. I think there is significant value to be had in the library, and I need to do a better job of letting people know about it. I'll be expanding on my promotional concepts in the coming days, and I'll be interested to hear your comments!

Check out psionic's beast model. It's rigged with quite a few animations in ms3d.

For me, the headache with the Milkshape format was just to get it into a decent VBO optimized list. I gave up in the end due to time-limitation of the school project I'm working on... not sure if I'll have time to get anims back in :/ (forced to OpenGL 3.1 in that project).

Anyway, best of luck!
