Among my coming tasks, I have been looking into building Hieroglyph into a library that can be used on both Windows 8 desktop and Metro style apps. There are several fairly large development hurdles that need to be overcome in order to make this work, and I would like to start a new series of blog posts about what needs to be done, and how to do it.
If you are an indie developer, I would certainly suggest that you take a look at developing for Metro style apps. The Windows store is the natural extension from the various app stores of the mobile world, but with one big difference - there is somewhere around 500,000,000 windows based devices out there. A $1.50 app can add up to a lot of biscuits if it gets hot when you have a customer base of this size - so it is worth taking a shot.
If you haven't already done so, do yourself a favor and check into it!!!
