just wondering. can i enter a game in the Four Elements IV Contest that supports directx 7.0?
This is not an official answer, but seeing as the judges will have DirectX 9 and the DirectX runtime is supposed to be backwards compatible, then it should be fine. On the other hand, if your code relies on bugs that existed only in the DirectX 7 runtime and not in the DirectX 9 runtime, then you might have problems.

The above answer can be considered official. The minimum specifications posted on the contest page are the minimum system specs that judges will be using. Since the minimum specs include an installed copy of DirectX 9 (which is backwards compability), DirectX 7 applications should work fine.
okay, thanks.
