I was thinking that I''d like to base my sounds in my game in ogg vorbis format. Is it ogg vorbis too young for this (ie should I wait a while until it becomes more mature)? Also, does anyone know how much CPU time is required to decode the .ogg files? thanks

The actual file format has been standardized from quite some time now. And now when beta 4 is out the decoders should be fairly fast. Their FAQ''s says the current decoders are about as fast as most mp3 decoders, while not as fast as the fastest though. Using unoptimized beta code and all... It also says that vorbis decoding is about as complex as mp3 decoding and should be just as fast when the code matures (beta 4 is supposedly twice as fast as beta 3 - which I really had no troubles using...).

"This album was written, recorded and edited at Gröndal, Stockholm in the year of 2000. At this point in time money still ruled the world. Capitalistic thoughts were wide spread. From the sky filled with the fumes of a billionarie''s cigar to the deepest abyss drenched in nuclear waste. A rich kid was a happy kid, oh..dirty, filthy times. Let this be a reminder."
