Point them to SDL, Clanlib, etc.

2. Do I have to worry about the difference in distributions?

Note that this really is not that big a deal.

3. Which linux should I use?

Give a brief description of major ones, Redhat, Suse, Mandrake, Slackware, debian, etc. Point them to resources/homepages.

4. How do I install linux?

Point them to appropriate HOWTO's.

5. Programming IDE's/debuggers

Come up with a list of IDE's and their URL's. Put in some debuggers (DDD rocks). educate them about gcc g++ egcs.

6. What games are there for Linux?

Point them to Lokigames, quake, UT, etc.
