DirectMusic, great, but is costing 30 fps!!!

I''m loading a .MID file and playng with a DirectMusic object. But is costing 30 FPS on my game!!! Why? .SGT are faster to play? Theres some property to speed up the DirectMusic?? Tanks!

What is an SGT, out of interest?

Personally, I would just use the standard multimedia functions to play a midi file, unless you''re doing something different with it. Software instruments, perhaps? If so, this will slow it down.
I didn''t notice any mayor slowdown while loading and playing a midi with DirectMusic. Maybe dropped 5 FPS. But then my FPS is about 400 in my project.
