Hi, I''m the developer of an 3d RTS game (www.glest.org), and I have just finished sound support, and now I need medieval sounds such as sword clashed and so on, where can I find them for free?

You could try making your own by smacking some pots infront of a mic.

Yeah; always good fun :D

Just try hitting random metal things in front of a mic, then fart about with compressors, EQ, effects and stuff...
No won''t work, metal things don''t sound like swords even if the same metal. I tried before.

You''ll probably get better results by suspending the piece of metal from a piece of string or something, so you get that kind of ''ringing'' sound that swords make when they clash.

Alternatively, buy a condenser mic and two swords, and have a fight with a friend :D
How about you just try some good echos, reverbs and flangers on the sample?

Try with some sort of metal pole, actually. Try scraping them together as you hit them. Then of course, effects as nessary.
