Anyone know where I can get a .wav to .IT/.XM/.S3M converter? Does such a thing exist? I know there are converters for the reverse, but that doesn''t help =) Any info would be greatly appreciated. -CodeSourcerer (aka BronYrAur)

Depends on what you need; but probably not. The problem is that all the instruments in the MOD are mixed together, and singling out a particular instrument is ( effectively ) impossible. Furthermore, wav -> pitch converters tend to be a bit on the cruddy side. I''ve used the built in one in Logic, with less then outstanding results.

The best you could hope for is to try and isolate a single instrument in the mix as best you can. Judicious use of filtering and panning can help here, but don''t expect miracles. Then, run each individual instrument through a pitch -> midi converter. Finally, reassemble the composite parts. As you can see, its not a trivial procedure and you are not going to get great results. Of course, there is the alternative : use your ears and transcribe it yourself.
There''s no such thing, and I doubt that there ever will be. The prblem is that you can go one way (IT -> WAV), but not the other way; you see, there''s no way of "de-mixing" it - the WAV just contains audio information, not sequence information like an IT or XM or whatever. Kinda like the difference between WAV and MIDI...
Ok, thanks. I somehow didn''t think there was such a thing, and I was right =) I mostly needed it because I found a musician who can write good music, but doesn''t know how to do the module formats. Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it.

See if you can get him to either learn the formats you need, or to ouse MIDI.

there are MIDI->Mod converters
