It has been approximately 4-5 months since my last laptop died on me, and I finally ordered a new one. Here's the specs in a nutshell:

- Dell Vostro 1500
- Core 2 Duo (1.6 GHz, 2MB L2, 800 MHz FSB)
- 2 GB DDR2
- 256 MB GeForce 8600M GT
- 15.4" Widescreen LCD
- 120 GB HD

I really wanted to get a DX10 level card with decent performance, and the 8600M GT is about as good as it is going to get without dropping a huge amount of money. This setup cost just $830 after a small business discount (if you want the e-value code send me a PM, I don't think it actually requires a small business to get the discount), and I couldn't be happier.

This should serve as a good platform for my future development efforts since most of my free time is at lunch time at work. I'll give an update once I receive it - which should be in about two weeks!
