In the story:
The Trumpeter is Granola's bird. It is a little slower
than Atiel but has a bigger battery.

Level Design: Flight Crew Structural Triage

In the story:
The flight crew flies to an area to check the energy capacity
and compare it with 50-yearold data before the ice age.
The flight crew tags the structures and share the data using
a local network and upload the data to the Albatross when they
return at dusk.

Level Plot Outline:
0.1 - Briefing with old data
0.2 - Dispatch at dawn
0.9 - Return to Albatross at dusk
1.0 - Conclusion with statistics

Implementation Concepts
o The status of a building is not shown until Atiel flies near
o Mark a structure by dropping a feather
o Once a structure is marked, it will show on the screen
o Romaina can bring one thing back to the Albatross
o Game duration: ~3min

Color Codes
Green - Intact
Yellow - Repairable
Red - Hazardous
Black - Destroyed

Flight Crew Site

[ Buildings (Flash) ]

Instruction:
Drop Bunny to buildings from bird. Don't crash into tall buildings.

Controls:
[ Up Up ] Mount bird
[ Down [up] ] Dismount bird
[ Left+Right ] Spawn bunny
[ Up ] Dodge Sky Scrapers

Blaahval

In the story:
Blaahval is a large nuclear cargo submarine.

Implementation Issues:
Blaahval is big. I need to decide what scale to show on screen. If
it is shown in the same scale as the Albatross, the Blaahval would
be almost as long as the game screen. In this scale the Albatross
can be shown resting on its back in the middle of an ocean.

In the story:
The water routes form loops in the ocean similar to the flight paths.
The Albatross and the Blaahval can meet anywhere where the ocean is exposed.

This is one of my favorite threads. One of those 'baby step' projects that actually shows some good stuff over time. Keep it fresh, keep it interesting baby. Love it.
My other projects stopped because I didn't have a story when I began.
This one began with its story that keeps everything coherent.


Water Route

[ Water Route (Flash) ]

In the story:
The climate on Earth had been bad even before the Earth freezed over.
Flight was dangerous and unreliable. Submarine freighters were the main
mean of mass transportation among the continents.

Flight Crew Squadron

[ Squadron (Flash) ]

In the story:
The flight crew arrives at the site and splits up to check
the buildings. The crew members redistribute their batteries
as needed.

Implementation:
Recharge the other flyers by giving them bunny.
More gets done when more flyers are charged.
Triaged highrises are safe to fly through.
Birds can collide at high speed.

Crew Members Specialties:
Amber: First aid
Sapphirina: High power scanning
Vermillia: Clear harzardous structures

Fire Hydrant

In the story:
The triage site is dangerous.

Implementation:
o Beware of fire hydrants at pressurized environment
o Beware of live power lines. You cannot dodge live power lines
